Downloading a beta version of the plugin

Danger

Only download a beta version if I’ve asked you to (for example, to test a fix for a problem you reported). Beta versions still contain not-yet-final changes that may not be stable.

Enabling beta versions

1. Go to your Freemius account: in Plugins → Installed Plugins, click the Account link under Kybernaut Messenger
2. In the Version row, tick the Join the Beta program checkbox and confirm the dialog

The setting applies only to the site where you tick it, so you can try a beta on a staging copy of your store first.

Downloading a new beta version

If a new beta version is available, once beta versions are enabled you can install it right away by pressing the Install update button.

Alternatively, you can go to Dashboard → Updates and ask WordPress to check for updates.

Disabling beta versions

Follow the same steps as in the Enabling beta versions section, just untick the checkbox.

On a production site, I recommend unticking it as soon as you’ve finished testing. A beta version that’s already installed, with any fix it contains, won’t be uninstalled, and once the final version is released you’ll get it as a regular update.
